Performance Opportunities

Recital

Mid American Studio offers students the opportunity to participate in two recitals throughout the year; one in May, and one in December. The recital is currently held at the Novi High School auditorium. Students are encouraged to participate to improve their self-confidence and performance skills as well as showcase the skills that they have learned throughout the session.

All students enrolled in weekly classes are invited to perform in the recitals. In order to perform in the recital, students are required to participate in one dress rehearsal prior as well as purchase a costume. Mid American Studio takes pride in selecting budget-friendly costumes for the semi-annual recitals. Many costumes, or costume pieces are able to be used again in classes or other dance related activities.

Team members are required to take an 45 min long weekly class that focuses on their performance pom routine. They are also required to take a 45 minute technique class that will focus on pom form, technique, and jumps.

Students will be placed according to grade level to determine which All Star Team they will perform on. There are new teams in September for the Fall session, and January for the Winter session.

Team members wear black dance shoes, black dance pants, and a custom made performance top. Each team member is required to purchase their performance top. This uniform is used for all performances throughout the season. Performances are to be determined as they depend on community events.
